Welcome to Butterfly Meadow Villa / Apartment / Studios

Butterfly Meadow is conveniently located close to Skala on the Greek Island of Kefalonia. It is a villa split into a one bedroom family apartment sleeping 4, and two spacious studios, each sleeping 2 or 3. For larger parties up to 10, it is also possible to rent the whole villa.

The villa takes its name from the abundance of Butterflys that visit the area in the summer months. We are located 1.5 miles (2km) from the centre of Skala and 1.5 miles (2km) from Katelios, on the southern end of the Greek Ionian island of Kefalonia. The Greek name for the Island is Cephalonia.

We are located in a very peaceful location, with the nearest beach just a 15 minute walk or short drive away.

Kefalonia is the largest of the six Ionian islands, in the Ionian Sea, located between the islands of Lefkada and Zakynthos across the Corinthian Gulf. It is a green mountainous island with many beaches and crystal waters. The island capital Argostoli, is a charming town where many of the islands activities are concentrated.

The town of Skala has many restaurants and tavernas as well as small supermarkets, gift shops, travel agents, bars, and car rental facilities. Many of these are located along Skala's main street, but do explore the side streets, as there are car hire, shops and tavernas hidden away along many of these, which are often more competitively priced.

Skala Beach (about 1.5 miles from Butterfly Meadow) is fringed by pine trees and stretches out as far as the eye can see, with soft white sand and bright aquamarine sea. Skala beach is one of the most spectacular on Kefalonia.

Kamina Beach (about 1 mile from Butterfly Meadow) is the nearest beach with acres of light sand and shallow sea, which goes on for miles. Kaminia is a natural nesting ground for Loggerhead Turtles (Caretta caretta).

Katelios (about 1.5 miles from Butterfly Meadow) is a traditional fishing village with sea front bars and restaurants. The bars and restaurants located on the beach itself will serve excellent food and drinks to their sunloungers which are provided for free use to their customers.

Butterfly Meadow is 40min from the airport. It has a local tavern in which you can sit out with the locals and enjoy the company. It is also a good place for rambling if you want to see more of the island. The locals are very friendly and will always greet you with Kaleemera, Yassass (Hello).
