Butterfly Meadow is a villa split into three spacious apartments. The villa takes it's name from
the abundance of Butterflys that visit the area in the summer months. We are located in the small town of Ratzakli
which is halfway between Katelios and Skala, on the southern end of the Greek Ionian island of Kefalonia.
Kefalonia is the largest of the six Ionian islands, in the Ionian sea. Located between the islands of Lefkada and Zakynthos
across the Corinthian Gulf. It is a green mountainus island with many beaches in crystal waters. The island capital Argostoli,
is a charming town where many of the islands activities are concentrated.
Kamina Beach (about 0.5miles
from Butterfly Meadow) - is the nearest beach with acres of light sand and shallow sea, which goes on for miles.
Kaminia is a natural nesting ground for the loggerhead turtles (Caretta caretta).
Skala Beach (about 1.8miles
from Butterfly Meadow) - is fringed by pine trees and stretches out as far as the eye can see, with soft white sand
and bright aquamarine sea, Skala beach is one of the most spectacular on Kefalonia (Cephalonia).
Skala has many restaurants
and tavernas as well as small supermarkets, gift shops, travel agents, bars, and car rental facilities. Many of these are
located along Skala's main street, but do explore the side streets, as there are car hire, shops and tavernas hidden away
along many of these, which are often more competitively priced.
Ratzakli, Is 40min from the airport, It
has a local taverna, supermarket and a tradditional friendly bar come handy shop, which you can sit out with the locals and
enjoy the company. Its also a good place for rambling if you want to see more of the island. The locals are very
friendly and will always greet you with Kaleemera, Yassass (hello).
